Attractive sites and a broad range of business premises are available in a variety of locations throughout South Lakeland, from town centres to rural business parks. South Lakeland includes part of the Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Industrial/storage rents range from £2.50 per square foot per annum, with office space in the region of £6.00 per square foot (figures provided for guidance only).

Land Allocation

The Local Plan Land Allocations identifies or ‘allocates’ land within the South Lakeland, outside of the National Parks, for specific types of development such as housing and employment.   

SLDC adopted the Local Plan Land Allocations on 17th December 2013 as part of the statutory Development Plan for South Lakeland outside the Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The Development Plan also includes the adopted Core Strategy and a number of 'saved' policies in the Local Plan.

SLDC's Interactive Local Plan Policies map (formerly Proposals Map) has been updated to reflect the changes to policy, designations and allocations identified in the Local Plan Land Allocations. The designations and allocations can also be viewed on individual settlement maps.
